Hike4Cancer.org is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting kids with cancer and their families. Based in Boulder, CO USA, Hike4Cancer.org raises money and awareness for organizations that create support groups, camps and activities centered around kids with cancer, their families and other individuals who support them throughout their journey.
In 2008, Hike4Cancer.org is supporting Camp Wapiyapi located in Estes Park, CO USA. The major fund raising event will be held July 30th through September 5th, 2008 on the Colorado Trail. Boulder musician Pete Kartsounes will be hiking the trail with legendary backpacker and outdoorsman Namie "Nean" Bacile. The two will be hiking the 500 mile Colorado Trail from Denver to Durango, CO. Pete will be playing shows in Breckenridge, Leadville, Salida, Creede, and Durango along the way to raise money for Camp Wapiyapi. Pete will also be using the 6-week hike to write new songs specifically for a CD release after the hike. Proceeds from the CD will benefit Camp Wapiyapi.
